In order to provide an impetus to the pharma industry and attract new investments in manufacturing and allied segments, the Government of Telangana has proposed to develop a Pharma City near Hyderabad. The Hyderabad Pharma City (HPC) aspires to be a lighthouse industrial cluster project, developed with integrated physical, environmental, social and technology infrastructure, over an area of about 7800 Ha in Rangareddy district of Telangana. It is estimated that HPC will provide employment to about 425,000 people, with 170,000 as direct employment. WRI India is collaborating with the Government of Telangana to help develop HPC in a functional regional perspective, that recognizes the dynamism of the urban/industrial ecosystem and will help situate HPC amongst the best in terms of competitiveness. In this context, WRI India is looking for a consultant to undertake a study to understand the competitiveness of Pharma/API/Chemical clusters and provide insights for HPC, through a benchmarkin.
